In May of 2016 the White House told public school's to let students use bathroom like facilities to the gender that they associate or identify as. Fox News reports that states like Alabama, Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky and more are not complying to this order. The result of not complying is that states lose federal funding. Though that this transgender bathroom use is not a law there is an incentive to make states comply. Texas does not like this idea and will not "'yield to blackmail'" says Lt.
